Cumberland Presbyterians grew out of the great revival of 1800.  The hard life of the frontier demanded a less restrictive, more compassionate doctrine than that of the Westminster Confession.  John 3:13 forms the backbone of our creed and we welcome all who acknowledge Jesus as savior and are committed to share their love of Jesus.  We are a small country church where faith is central to our church life and service is a natural outgrowth of that faith.  Please come and worship with us.

This site is under construction; (And apparently it will always be in some state of construction.  Just as our church life is always under construction).  We are attempting to amplify our outreach and follow Christ’s Great Commission (Matthew28:18-20)

But the work is not yet complete.  Please submit comments, additions and/or corrections to wilcoxr139@yahoo.com

The first posting of this site is partially a result of reading the article listed below.  I believe it has value in most things that we do for the church.  We should not let “perfect” be the enemy of “excellence”.  I am guilty and will try to repent.  I used to “bristle” at any comment that contained the phrase “why don’t you just” --- “.  My internal response was “Christ never took any advice like that.  He never failed to give his best and was perfect”.  We have no “Perfect” in us and it is arrogant to think so.
